The show is gearing up for one last season.

Ever since news broke of Kevin Spacey's alleged sexual misconduct, the fate of his popular Netflix series House of Cards seemed to be in jeopardy. Fans began to ponder how the producers are going to write-off the show's lead character in a way that is both coherent and beneficial to the narrative progression.

However, it appears as though the series' creators and writing team were able to ring out a season's worth of ideas to explore, all while sending the show off in a respectable and serviceable manner.

Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright, will assume the role of Commander in Chief, filling Spacey's very obvious void in the series. The season will only consist of six episodes, and will premiere sometime this fall; peep the teaser clip below:

Netflix has been quick to denounce their involvement with the disgraced actor ever since news began to leak about his highly-questionable behaviour, both on and off set. First, reports began to emerge accusing the actor of foul play with Anthony Rapp, who was a minor at the time. Since that initial revelation, eight more House of Cards staff members, both past and present, have also come forward alleging Spacey of various forms of misconduct.

Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey,” a rep for the network once told People. “We will continue to work with [production company] MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show."
