"I hope he gets another shot."

Save for that one that he made the mistake of getting caught with a “Make America Great Again” hat in his locker last season, seasoned quarterback Toim Brady has done a pretty meticulous job at keeping his opinion out of the headlines. However, he recently took a break from the rather bland routine to offer  his brief thoughts on the skill of the much-debated Colin Kaepernick.

It was in an interview clip from Sunday morning's airing of CBS This Morning that Brady voiced that he would actually hope to see Kaepernick take to the field once more.

"I sure hope so," Brady began, answering Norah O’Donnell’s question on whether or not Colin Kaepernick “can play again in the NFL."

"I’ve always watched him and admired him, the way that he’s played. He was a great young quarterback. He came to our stadium and beat us and took his team to the Super Bowl in 2012. He accomplished a lot in the pros as a player and he’s certainly qualified. I hope he gets a shot."

While Brady doesn’t exactly touch on the controversy surrounding Kap’s decision to kneel during the National Anthem at the start of league matches, his thoughts do seem to align with the overarching theory that despite his talent on the field, Kaepernick is being blackballed by the league because of personal beliefs that conflict with those at the top of the food chain.

While Kaepernick’s protest and subsequent criticism isn’t a new subject, the past few months have been home to a handful of celebrity endorsements in support of his right to kneel. Most recently, JAY-Z dedicated his performance of “The Story of O.J.” during his set at The Meadows Festival in New York City to the former star quarterback and comedian and actor Chris Rock also stepped onto social meda to join in on the resounding opinion of what appears to be a blatant injustice dealt to Kap within the league despite his exemplary professional career.
