Featuring a surprise entrance from Kendrick Lamar.

Jorja Smith does not yet have a full-length album to her name, but she's already selling out shows internationally. From the Garage throwback "On My Mind" to the powerhouse balladry of "Let Me Down," she's proven that not only is she a strong songwriter and vocalist, but a versatile one too. On the Sounwave-produced "I Am" from the Black Panther soundtrack, we get to hear yet another side of Smith: future-soul experimentalist.

Doubling her voice on the chorus with close harmonies and delivering stylish, deceptively technical vocal performances on the verses, Jorja lets her personality shine through and comes away with one of the most memorable songs on the album. Not everyone can find common ground with Kendrick's left-field soul, but by the time he makes a surprise entrance at the end, it feels like he's now exploring her world, not his.

Quotable Lyrics:
I been out here tryin' to see my homecoming
And of course
Somebody's always gonna say something
Try and shoot me down
For voicin' my own opinion
Triggerin' a part of me
That's always been indifferent
