Future & Cher link up for an unlikely duet for Gap's campaign.

Before Future stepped on the scene with his signature use of Auto-Tune, there was Cher. The 71-year-old pop veteran had a huge hand in the popularization of the vocal enhancement tool in the late 90's. While both artists sit on polar opposite sides of the musical spectrum, the two have recently linked up for Gap's new ad campaign.

Directed by Director X, Gap's latest campaign "‘Meet Me in the Gap" links Future & Cher for a special duet. The two artists sit side by side as they do a rendition of Sly & The Family Stone's "Everyday People" with a modern twist. As Cher leads the collaboration, Future comes in with his signature adlibs and melodies. Out of curiosity sake, it would be interesting to hear a full length studio quality version of the song.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, both artists seemed to be quite ecstatic of the pairing for the commercial.

“When Gap said they wanted to team me up with a young artist I knew it would be really beautiful,’” Cher told them about working with Future.“We had a blast together.”

Future later elaborated on the duet, calling Cher a legend.

“It was cool to work with someone who is in the industry but has such a different background and life from me,” he told PEOPLE. “Our love for music really connected us. She’s a true performer and a legend.”

Future later revealed that being in the ad is part of a family legacy at this point considering his son was featured in a Gap campaign earlier this year.

“It’s part of my DNA, growing up wearing Gap and now to see my son wearing it and in a campaign ties the whole family together,” Future told PEOPLE magazine. “They have something for every age, every person in a family.”

He also told them that he plans on saving the leather jacket he modeled for the campaign to pass down to his son.

"With both of us being in campaigns for Gap I think it would be cool to pass down that piece of memory to him,” Future said.

The two artists are an unlikely pairing however, Gap really did a great job at getting both Cher and Future together for the campaign. The two artists are icons from different eras, genres and backgrounds altogether but that's the appeal.
