Rae Sremmurd are known for having shows that can get a little wild from time to time. However, one fan thinks the rap duo crossed the line and is suing them for wrecking part of his face in an incident that included water bottles being thrown into the crowd.
According to TMZ, a man in Michigan has named the emcees, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, in a lawsuit that is asking for an undisclosed amount of money for inuring the concertgoer by "recklessly" throwing water bottles into the crowd. The show in question took place in October of 2016, where both of the men in Rae Sremmurd gave no warning before they threw the water bottles into the crowd. There's no outright accusations that there was an attempt to injure any given fan, but the man who is suing got corked square in the nose by one of the projectiles. The man's legal representatives are claiming that part of his face was ripped off from the sheer force of the object that was thrown, which led to him being immediately rushed to the hospital. As per the report, the victim of the water bottle incident has allegedly suffered permanent disfigurement and scarring to his face, not to mention the embarrassment he's surely faced as a result. The man is suing for assault, negligence and battery and is also asking for Rae Sremmurd to pony up the cash for his medical bills on top of any damages he may collect in the proceedings. There's been no official comment from Swae Lee or Slim Jxmmi, nor has there been an official statement made available to the public by there reps at the time of this writing.
It's been a bad year for concert litigation so far in 2017. In particular, negligence from artists and promoters seems to be an increasingly frequent reason that fans and their loved ones alike are pursuing legal action against any offending parties these days.
