It's been a solid month for releases this August, especially if you're a hip hop head. We've been blessed with projects from A$AP Mob, Dave East, Kodak Black, BROCKHAMPTON and many others. It's safe to say that if you're an avid hip hop head, you've spent the majority of this month catching up with the latest music drops. One of the most anticipating moments after albums drop is there performance both critically and commercially, especially where there has been a lot of hype around the albums release.

This past week, it's been revealed that both Kodak Black and Dave East's respective projects have found their way onto the top 10 on the Billboard 200. Kodak Black's Project Baby 2 has debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 where Dave East's Paranoia: A True Story made it's way up to number 9 on the charts.

Kodak Black's project makes it's way to number 2, making it his highest charting project to date as well as the second of this year to hit the top 10. With the anticipation that surrounded Project Baby 2, Kodak raked in the equivalent of 50,000 album sales. The impressive part about Kodak's new project is that the majority of his numbers come from album streams. With only 8,000 actual units sold, Kodak's latest project garnered 39,000 streams upon it's release. Kudos to the project baby himself.

Dave East's Paranoia: A True Story reaches to number 9 on the charts, making it his highest charting project to date. This project, although an EP, makes it Dave East's first major label debut. His album reportedly hit a little under 26,000 units with 12,000 being pure album sales. It's a pretty solid accomplishment for the New York-native. His last project Kairi Chanel peaked at 38 on the Billboard 200. It's a solid accomplishment for Dave East and hopefully, this is a sign of good things to come for the rapper in his future releases.

The two rappers made their way onto the charts, joining the ranks of Khalid, Kendrick Lamar and DJ Khaled this week. Congratulations to both artists for making a huge mark with their efforts.
