The New York media officially welcomes Aaron Rodgers to the Big Apple.

Aaron Rodgers has had a rather busy week. On Monday, it was announced that the Green Bay Packers had officially traded Rodgers. Rodgers requested a trade to the New York Jets. A deal that the Packers obliged and made possible for Rodgers. On Wednesday, Rodgers was officially welcomed to the franchise with a press conference. The first press conference between Rodgers and the New York media since the trade was announced.

During the press conference, Rodgers discussed his time with Green Bay. As well as what led to the frustrations between him and the franchise. According to Rodgers, the lack of communication between the franchise and himself ultimately led to his change of heart. Rodgers mentioned that he told the team he wanted to be traded or that he would retire. The new Jets quarterback is excited about his new start with the team. Check out some of the clips from the press conference below.

Aaron Rodgers Ready For Next Chapter

Rodgers also had a little fun with his new team. During the press conference, Rodgers mentioned that the team's Super Bowl III trophy looks awfully lonely. The former league MVP is no stranger to winning a Super Bowl. Rodgers helped lead the Packers to a Super Bowl back in 2011. However, Rodgers and the Packers never appeared in another Super Bowl after 2011. Also, Rodgers knows his window of winning another ring is closing sooner rather than later. The news Jets QB believes the team has the pieces to be a viable threat in the NFL immediately.

Rodgers mentioned the Jets as being the best destination for a win-now scenario. Older quarterbacks have seen success recently when making a tough move. Tom Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl in his first year with the team back in 2021. Rodgers is looking at that blueprint when seeing where the Jets sit in the current landscape.
