Like many former child stars, Amanda Bynes has had a rough life. Since the early 2010s, Bynes has been a frequent feature in many tabloids for stories about her behavior and struggles with substance abuse. However, she persevered against her adversities and in 2022, succeeded in ending a nine-year conservatorship. Her parents had filed for conservatorship in 2013 after Bynes was arrested for starting a fire in Thousand Oaks.

However, Bynes made headlines once again in late March 2023. TMZ released a report stating that Bynes had been roaming Los Angeles naked as a result of a psychotic episode. Bynes eventually flagged down a passer-by and relayed her situation. She was then placed on a psychiatric hold at a facility in Southern California. A week into her hospitalization, it was reported that the hold had been extended.

Bynes Released To Begin Outpatient Treatment

According to TMZ, Bynes was released on April 11. Her release was a result of Bynes and her medical staff determining she was ready to begin outpatient treatment. Bynes will now work with medical specialists to continue her recovery. According to TMZ's sources, Bynes will undergo her outpatient work while living in her own home. During her time in hospital, it was also confirmed that Bynes would not have her conservatorship reinstated. Bynes will now have the opportunity to get back to her day-to-day life. Furthermore, she will be able to do so without restrictions on her movements or activities.

It is unclear what the immediate future holds for Bynes. The weekend before her hospitalization, she was scheduled to appear at a convention panel in Connecticut for All That, the 90s sketch show that kickstarted her career. It would have marked Bynes' first public event since the end of her conservatorship. However, she ended up missing the panel. Following her recovery, Bynes may attempt to begin attending public events again. However, she could also focus her attention on fashion. Bynes graduated from Irvine's Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 2019. While the media can speculate about Bynes' next steps, it is likely that her primary concern will be completing her recovery.
