The alleged drama between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez reached a peak this week upon Selena telling followers that Hailey reached out to her, saying that she received death threats as a result of their alleged social media spat. Moreover, for those not caught up, many believed that the pop star's girlfriend threw shade at his ex via Instagram, and a lot of that speculation possibly is what caused the "Only Murders In The Building" star to take a social media break. However, things took a nasty turn when people started speculating more and more.

In fact, now Gomez is telling her fans (and all the Hailey haters) to stop sending death threats and more hatred her way. Of course, she never advocated for such in the first place. "Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Friday morning (March 24). “This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop."

Hailey Bieber Told Selena Gomez That She's Receiving Death Threats

What's more is that this is the first time she directly addressed this recent firestorm, although she seemingly spoke on it indirectly earlier this month. "Please, please be kinder and consider others’ mental health," she wrote in a TikTok comment. Also, she expressed a heavy heart, presumably over people trashing Bieber for "stealing" her ex and allegedly throwing shade. Overall, the situation got out of hand fast, and is a prime example of the dangers of fandom and specifically reading too much into media posts. While this kind of story has followed both women for a while, its most recent focus dragging Kylie Jenner, eyebrow posts, and other factors into it doesn't make it any less gross to propagate with such ire.

"It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship," Bieber said on the Call Her Daddy podcast last September. Moreover, she referred to attacks that she took Justin away from Selena. "I would just never do that. I’m not interested in doing that and I never was." Furthermore, she expressed that her and Selena have a lot of mutual respect for one another. Hopefully this situation doesn't fake a feud to provoke a real one, and they can move on with their lives. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest on Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez.
