Gigi Bryant and her father Kobe tragically lost their lives three years ago in a helicopter accident. Seven others were also killed in the crash, and it remains one of the most shocking tragedies of the last few years. Overall, Gigi and Kobe's memories are still being honored. In the immediate aftermath of their passing, we saw numerous tributes to them. Whether it be jerseys or massive murals on the side of walls, there is no doubt that these two were beloved.

Moreover, in order to pay respect to Kobe and Gigi, Nike decided to take a step back from releasing Kobe sneakers. Back in 2020, the brand was looking to come through with all sorts of Kobe retros. However, they realized that this probably would not be the best look. Eventually, they came back with some new Kobe-inspired kicks before their contract with the Bryant estate ran out. For a while, it seemed like Nike would no longer be permitted to make Kobe sneakers. Now, however, they have a new deal with Vanessa Bryant, and it seems like Nike is ready to take advantage.

Gigi Bryant x Nike

We have reported quite a bit on the Nike Kobe 4 Protro and how it is returning this year. According to @kicksaluoluo2 and @zsneakerheadz, there is now a Gigi-inspired Nike Kobe 4 Protro on the way. Firstly, this shoe contains a white leather upper. Secondly, the secondary color here seems to be a gorgeous navy blue. From the Nike swoosh to the checkered pattern on the back heel, there is a great aesthetic being put together here. Overall, it is an incredibly clean color scheme that fans will most definitely enjoy. It also helps that this is just an all-time great Kobe silhouette.

For now, this shoe is rumored to drop on May 1st, which just so happens to be Gigi's birthday. Although, this release date has not yet been confirmed by Nike directly. Either way, this would be a great release that will definitely excite the fans out there. Let us know what you think of these, in the comments below.
