Years ago, Meek Mill and Migos teamed up for a Key Wane produced collaboration called "Contagious." While the rappers actively promoted the track with a few social media snippets and in-studio teasers, the song ultimately remained in the vault, leaving fans wondering what became of it. As is often the case with unreleased joints," perhaps there was some sort of sample clearance issue that prevented it from dropping. Maybe both parties decided it wasn't up to par, for whatever reason. Regardless of the motivation, "Contagious" remained an urban legend for years to come - until now.

The track has finally dropped in full, and it definitely holds up. While these types of songs never truly feel "new," it's still cool to see the time capsule effect taking place. Since Meek was tweeting about this one in 2014, it stands to reason that Migos and Milly might have laid "Contagious" down as far back as 2013. That would mean that Migos was in the middle of breaking through, coming off the release of their acclaimed Young Rich N*ggas mixtape, as well as their star-making single "Versace." In 2013, Meek was preparing the release of Dreamchasers 3, and beginning work on his album Dreams Worth More Than Money.

Now, both groups are more popular than ever before. With Culture cementing them firmly in the mainstream eye, Migos have become a mainstay in the hip-hop game, and their stardom seems to only be growing. As for Meek, he's been having a solid bounce-back year, with Wins And Losses being one of his most critically acclaimed albums yet. So why not look back on simpler times? The track features a banging organ-driven instrumental, and while every rapper goes in, the real MVP has to be Takeoff. Forever the group's most underrated, Takeoff closes out the track with a verse that proves he's not one to be slept on.

Quotable Lyrics

In the back of the Maybach changin' channel
Lightin' the block up like Christmas carols
Bustin' my women, my ceilin' is panorama
O.G got back on my back like I'm Santa
Droppin' up Four in the one liter Fanta
