Meet Montreal's Qi Yama with his breezy "Lady Rosa."

Beginning as a guitarist, Montreal singer-songwriter Qi Yama has edged closer to rap with recent releases. His breezy record "Lady Rosa" is as much Jack Johnson or Sublime as it is Chance The Rapper, saying as much of Qi Yama's development as it does rap's increasingly fluid interactions with other genres.

The track arrives in advance of the 21-year-old's upcoming as-of-yet-untitled EP, which will find him working with a variety of producers, as well as giving the songs a visual treatment.

"Lady Rosa" is a collaboration with producer T. Crager, and comes off Qi Yama's Pilot Demos project, which can be streamed in full below.
