Twista is being sued for the death of a bodyguard in a tour bus crash back in 2004.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the Chicago rapper is being sued by the family of the bodyguard, Arthur "Butch" Dixon. Dixon died of multiple blunt force trauma during a rollover crash in Pennsylvania. The crash occured because Twista's cousin, Otis Bankhead, fell asleep at the wheel while driving back to Chicago after Twista's show in New York.
Dixon, who is the son of legendary bluesman Willie Dixon, and was himself an accomplished jazz pianist, was thrown from the van along with all the other passengers.
The lawsuit states that Bankhead had a history of driving violations, and his license was suspended at the time of the crash. The suit claims that Twista, born Carl Mitchell, his record label and promoters should not have allowed Bankhead to drive.
