50 Cent will create a TV show for Starz based on the infamous Black Mafia Family drug trafficking ring.

50 Cent hasn’t released much music recently, mostly because he’s been hard at work on his TV series “Power,” which he’s turned into a multi-show deal for the Starz Network. We’ve already reported that he’s working on a variety show and a superhero drama called “Tomorrow, Today,” but this latest news is probably the most exciting for hip hop fans. After some slight disputes with a rival producer, it appears 50 Cent has the blessing to begin work on a Black Mafia Family TV show, per a handwritten letter 50 Cent received from one of the founders of BMF, Big Meech.

As a quick refresher for the younger readers, BMF was a drug trafficking organization led by the infamous Big Meech and his brother Southwest T that reached its peak in the early 2000s. They had amassed enough wealth to enter the hip hop industry, promoting Young Jeezy and cavorting with high profile artists such as Jay Z and Fabolous. Both brothers were sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2008, and are slated to be released in 2032.

It’s unclear if 50 Cent plans to turn this into a dramatized series, or will create a more documentary-style show. Either way, we’re excited to see what he does. Read Big Meech’s full letter below. Big Meech's son posted on Instagram expressing his excitement for the show.
