Weezy shared via Twitter that he recently heard MC Lyte, the Lyte as a Rock star who rose to prominence in the late-80's, refer to him as a "rap legend." Humbled by this kind of praise, Wayne called the moment "unforgettable" and said that the word were more than just a compliment.
Social media users responded with their approval as well, accepting the rapper's humble attitude at face value but also pointing out that he's definitely done enough to be placed in the lofty category of hip-hop icon. With Tha Carter V still in purgatory, it's a nice reminder that what has come before is of the highest quality.
