Over the weekend Indiana Pacers All-Star forward Paul George reportedly informed the team that he plans on leaving after his contract ends next Summer.
Naturally, the Pacers are now looking to trade George to the highest bidder rather than lose him for nothing after the 2017-18 season. Teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are among those interested in working out a deal for George, although he has always said he'd love to return to California to play for the Lakers.
Wherever he ends up, it's clear he won't be in Indy for long which prompted Indianapolis-based T-shirt and apparel store, The Shop, to literally give away their Paul George gear.
According to Bleacher Report,
"We knew that we probably weren't going to sell those T-shirts anymore now that he's leaving the team," said Hillary Brown, the manager of The Shop.
"We just wanted to give it away. It's something that we've done in the past as well. If we have a T-shirt that we know isn't going to sell, we just give it away."
Fans who ordered t-shirts and/or hats online did have to pay the $5 shipping fee but those who were in the area could just walk in and grab a hat off the rack or one of the folded t-shirts without paying a nickel.
"In store, they were completely, 100 percent free," Brown said. "We didn't have that many left to begin with. Once we put them out for free, they went very fast, before the afternoon was over."
