Currently suffering in prison, Suge Knight has brought a lawsuit against Chris Brown for not providing better security at a party he hosted in 2014, where Knight was shot multiple times.

Summer is off to a rough start for Chris Brown. Last week, his former manager claimed in a lawsuit that he was viciously beaten by Brown, and earlier today, another one of his employees revealed that she quit her job as his tour manager because she was allegedly verbally attacked and threatened by Brown. While he waits to see if those allegations develop into legal action, Brown has now been named the target of yet another lawsuit. This one comes from one of hip-hop's most infamous figures, Suge Knight, who's currently being kept in solitary confinement in a Los Angeles prison. He was charged with murder in February of last year after he was the driver in a fatal hit-and-run on the set of the "Straight Outta Compton" film shoot.

Late in the summer of 2014, Suge Knight was shot at the 1OAK nightclub in LA. The shooting went down at the release party for Chris Brown's album, X. A couple of months ago, Knight's lawyer filed legal documents and alleged that the shooting was set up by Dr. Dre. Today, Knight is suing the man who hosted the party at which he was shot. In his new lawsuit, Knight claims that the shooting could have been prevented if Brown as well as 1OAK had been equipped with the appropriate security. It's not yet clear if Knight is suing 1OAK, though he does want to bring charges against the Brown-affiliated singer Pia Mia, who was reportedly a co-host of the party.

The lawsuit points out that Brown is a "known gang associate" who has a history of putting on events that are prone to violence. There was another shooting at a Brown concert in San Francisco last year.

Knight was shot in the abdomen, chest, and left forearm, and he maintains that his gunshot wounds have led to serious health complications, including a life-threatening blood clot. The damages that Knight seeks from Brown are still unknown, and he'll likely have a particularly difficult time in moving forward with the lawsuit due to his critical health and solitary confinement.
