Not surprisingly, the Top 10 for the week of July 4th was largely music that would sound good out of an outdoor sound system. Not a sad song in the bunch.
Let’s get to it.
10) French Montana ft. Lil Wayne & Rick Ross - Lose It (Gucci Mane)
French Montana continues to be carried by the rappers around him. But it looks like it won’t last much longer. “Gucci Mane” fell seven spots in its second week on the charts and we should expect an exit from the Top 10 by this time next week.
9) Eminem ft. Gwen Stefani - Kings Never Die
Eminem’s name piqued enough interest to push this track from the "Southpaw" soundtrack into the top 10 in its first week on the charts, at #9.
But even the stans weren’t feeling this one, it currently has a 59% positive rating.
8) Meek Mill ft. Nicki Minaj & Chris Brown - All Eyes on You
A weak song from a pretty great album. The lesser of two Nicki features on Dreams Worth More Than Money hung around in the #8 slot for a second straight week. You can never discount starpower.
7) Yo Gotti ft. Young Thug - Rihanna
This track is proof that Yo Gotti has taken some SEO classes. The song named after everyone’s favorite Bajan lady is also likely the highest rated Young Thug song in HNHH history. It came in at number seven in its first week on the charts.
6) Fetty Wap - D.A.M. (Dat’s All Me)
All hail our New Jersey overlord. Fetty Wap can not be stopped. “D.A.M.” assured that Fetty’s streak of at least two tracks in the Top 10 remained unbroken. It landed at #6 in its first week out.
5) Ty Dolla Sign ft. Future & Rae Sremmurd - Blasé
Rae Sremmurd just announced a new album for December, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be taking time off in the meantime. Their collaboration with fellow turn-up kings Future and Ty$ jumped up four spots in its second week on the charts, landing at #5.
4) Fetty Wap - Ride or Die
Even in a week with new Fetty tracks to ponder, the old ones aren’t giving up. “Ride or Die” rose three spots to land at #4 in its third week on the charts.
3) Lil Wayne & Charlie Puth - Nothing But Trouble
Anticipation for FWA was intense this week. Weezy fans held themselves over with this track from a documentary on the Roland TR-808 drum machine. It came in at #3 in its first week on our charts.
2) The Game ft. Drake - 100
The Game fought valiantly, but he could not hold off Meek Mill (especially when Meek was armed with his own, newer Drizzy feature). “100” didn’t fall far though, dropping one spot to come in at #2 in its second week on the charts.
1) Meek Mill ft. Drake - R.I.C.O.
One of the highlights from DWMTM, and one with the most Drake. “R.I.C.O.” blew past everyone to take the top spot in its first week on the chart.
