Danny Brown reveals he's been working on a children's book for some time.

As much as Danny Brown presents himself as a wild party man (which he certainly is to some extent), when it comes to his art, he puts a serious amount of care and effort into every detail. In a new interview with Triple J, Danny spoke of the perfectionism that is going into his upcoming follow-up to 2013's OLD, as well as a children's book he's been working on for the last little while.

Brown explained that his work ethic has been upped since installing a studio in his home. "I'm in the early stages of [recording]. I got a studio in my house now so I’ll just wake up, stretch, record whenever I want," he said. "I've been recording like a maniac."

As far as who he's collaborating with on the album, the Detroit rapper is sticking with what works for the most part. "Pretty much just working with the same producers I always work with, Paul White and Skywalker," he revealed, adding, "I went to LA and worked with Alchemist for like a week. I think there's one that's gonna stick."

While it's always good to get an update on Brown's music, the most surprising part of the interview came he revealed another project he's been working on-- a children's book, which he described as "Dr. Seuss-y". “It’s really about self-esteem in black girls,” he said. “You know how black women do so much like process their hair, change their eye color. It’s really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself and she realizes she’s just better off the way she is. It's something for my daughter too."
