Last October, beloved singer and remix aficionado Jacquees was hit with a cease and desist after offering up a take on Ella Mai's hit "Trip" single. It was later revealed that 10 Summers label head DJ Mustard was the one pulling the strings, moving to purge Jacquees' rendition of the single from existence. Case in point, the Quemixed variant was even pulled from its backdoor hideout Pornhub. Though it was later revealed to be "all love" between Jacquees and Ella Mai, it would appear he's still got a few bones to pick with Mustard, though there does remain a sense of respect.

During a recent interview with Big Boy TV, the subject of the former controversy was raised, prompting a candid response from the singer. "Really though DJ Mustard hated on me," Jacquees revealed. "No cap, though. That was crazy—shout out to YG though that's my partner and I want to work with DJ Mustard, too—But that was a hating move."

He continues, revealing that he believed the Quemix was "Dope," and mutually beneficial to all parties involved, despite the lack of any royalty agreements. "I been making remixes for a long time," continues Jacquees. "Me and Ella Mai, we had just became friends. I had just met her backstage." He even reveals that Ella Mai responded to the remix with a slew of fire emojis. Unfortunately, his director uploaded a video for the track to his YouTube page, prompting Mustard to lay down the iron fist. Was he right to do so?
