Justin Bieber may not be the most well-liked patron of the musical community, but his verse of the "Cannon" instrumental was not half-bad... considering he was 14 at the time, boasting lyrics like "Hey my young, wanna have some fun? You can play with my cannon."
Of course, Asher Roth included his own freestyle over "Cannon" for his mixtape, The Greenhouse Effect.
You can thank TMZ for this footage. Apparently it was Justin Bieber's original aspiration to pursue a rap career, until his managers persuaded him to stick to pop music.
Maybe Bieber's verse was a bit cheesy, but perhaps it is better than a lot of other efforts by Stratford-bred 14-year-olds.
