Late last month, it was announced that after suffering a stroke, John Singleton was in a coma. The famous film director was placed on life support and his family made the extremely difficult decision to let him go. The Boyz N The Hood director died at the age of 51 and it has since been announced that he will be laid to rest among some of his famous friends.
Today, it was revealed via The Blast that John Singleton's family has decided to hold a private funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills. This is the same cemetery that Nipsey Hussle and many other celebrities are buried at. Singleton will also be near Liberace, Paul Walker and Carrie Fisher.
With the Met Gala taking place tonight, some stars have had to forget about the luxurious event in order to fly to Los Angeles and support Singleton's family, including Taraji P. Henson. Henson and Singleton were very close throughout their careers and according to Page Six, she has backed out of the Met Gala in favour of honouring Singleton's life. The two had collaborated frequently with Singleton directing one episode of her hit show Empire.
