Usher's herpes lawsuit has been going on for what seems like an eternity. After settling matters with Quantasia Sharpton, Usher is still working through his case with Laura Helm who sued the singer earlier this year for supposedly giving her the STI. Usher denied the claim, saying Laura assumed her own risk when sleeping with him but now as the case moves forward he's requesting a gag order.
According to Bossip, Usher wants all information on the case to remain private and under wraps, since it contains sensitive and possibly embarrassing information. The "U Got It Bad" singer states how as a public figure he has a lot to lose if intimate details, medical records, and certain documents leak to the public. He notes that if any information did make it to the public, himself and Laura could suffer “harm, annoyance and/or embarrassment," and doesn't want the media making a profit off his personal matters.
As previously reported, Laura and Usher's case is most likely set to go to trial after Laura's claims of emotional stress holds more weight since Usher had brushed her off for so long. Laura sued Usher for negligence, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and fraud.
