Wendy Williams is officially back from her hiatus and hosting her daytime talk show where she's in the privileged position to confront her own rumours head-on and dispell any dramatic reports being passed around surrounding her name. On today's first episode, Wendy detailed to her studio audience exactly what she was up to while she took her week off.
Wendy and a few women from her sober group decided to take a trip to upstate New York for a little break from the city. “I’m the newbie, so I get to make the decisions,” Wendy detailed. “I’m thinking we’re going over to Ellis Island to one of those glamp grounds … No, honey, we went all the way up there.”

She explained how her crew of sober women all come from the same background. “The great thing about being in the sober house [is] the people that I live with,” she said. “We are people with functioning careers who just want to check ourselves and get down with that 12-step. … There are people in there with prestigious careers and degrees.”
Wendy even discussed the photo of her at a local Wal-Mart that saw her in a shopping scooter. “I want to shout-out to my friends at the Walmart in a little-known place called Ellen, New York,” she said. “We went up there and the Walmart is the social place. When I’m away from the show, sometimes I do take selfies. At 4 o’clock in the morning, I’m sitting in this scooter … taking pictures with people.”
She added: “This became a blog sensation over the weekend, so I’m here to correct. One of the best things about being truthful to yourself and having your own show is that I can come and dispel my own rumors.”
