Our "Heat Seekers" contest is entering it's sixth week, which means there's only one month left for new artists to submit their music in hopes of winning the grand prize - a studio session with one of the game's best producers at the HNHH studio.
Dedicated to highlighting talented TuneCore artists, each contributor will have a shot at landing a spot on our ever-growing playlist, in addition to being eligible for the exclusive studio session.

As we kick off Week 6 of the contest, today we'll be highlighting three TuneCore artists - Marlo Smith, Joey Purp, and Bino Rideaux - each of whom have roots in cities with strong hip-hop influences.

Marlo Smith

Born in New York City, but having spent his formative years in Broward County, FL, Marlo calls North Lauderdale home. After graduating from college and starting a career in marketing, Marlo quickly realized his life’s fulfillment would only be actualized with the pursuit of his creative talents.
His current project is titled "Black Boy,' which gives a sonic picture of the plights and prejudices of a black boy in America through his perspective. His intention is the polar opposite of alienating anyone with the title; rather, he hopes to unite people through delivering cutting lyrics that sound like they are bouncing off a razor’s edge.
One of his inspirations in human form is Andre 3000 but he grew up idolizing the likes of Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West. Like Andre 3000, Marlo uses fashion to express himself. He likens it to a super hero putting on his cape as he looks to inspire and influence a generation.
Joey Purp

Chicago-native Joey Purp is a founding member of the SaveMoney Collective and one-half of the Leather Corduroys duo.
He released his first mixtape, "The Purple Tape," back in 2012 and he has been working at his craft ever since. His 2016 mixtape, "iiiDrops," featured contributions from Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper, and was later listed by Pitchfork as the "Best New Music."
He released his debut studio album, titled "Quarterthing," in 2018 which included guest appearances from GZA and RZA, among others.
Bino Rideaux

Hailing from Los Angeles, Bino Rideaux is best known for his collaborative efforts with the late, great Nipsey Hussle. The duo released a collaborative mixtape in 2017, titled "No Pressure," an eight-record tape which only included a feature from Dave East.
Following the success of "No Pressure," the L.A. crooner dropped a new four-track E.P. in September of 2018, appropriately titled "Four." His latest album, "On My Soul," includes hit singles "On My Soul" and "This That," as well as "Freestyle," which was filmed in the Rollin 60s.
