A few months before the birth of their son Kenzo, Kevin and Eniko Hart's marriage was rocked by a cheating scandal. An individual close to Hart attempted to extort the actor over footage of depicting him involved in relations with a woman other than his then-pregnant wife, Eniko. Hart was prompted to take to social media and issue a public apology to his wife and children. “I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back,” he said in the video. “And because of that I should make smart decisions. And recently, I didn’t... in doing that I know that I’m going to hurt the people closest to me, who’ve I talked to and apologized to, that would be my wife and my kids.

Following one year since news of the scandal broke, Kevin told People that he and his wife have worked hard to repair their relationship. Hart heralded his wife's strength and ability to forgive saying, "I applaud my wife for just displaying a high level of strength that I can’t even explain. I applaud her for being my backbone, my support system, and more importantly, taking my life to the next level.” He credited their friendship for providing a strong foundation for their marriage, “The friendship that I have with my wife is insane. Yes, that’s my wife, we’re lovers, it’s a relationship, it’s marriage…but the friendship we have is like no other.”
The couple is now focused on continuing to enjoy their relationship and raising their young family.
