Aziz Ansari to embark on a mini tour in the South.

Aziz Ansari has announced his plans to perform a handful of stand-up shows throughout South Carolina and Tennessee. The new show, "Aziz Ansari: Working Out New Material,” is slated to kick off at the top of September in Charleston, SC at the Charleston Gaillard Center on the 4th and 5th, the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, TN on the 6th and the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, TN on the 8th.

This marks the Ansari’s most significant return to the spotlight since being accused of sexual misconduct earlier this year. In May, he performed an unannounced set at New York City’s Comedy Cellar and most recently graced stages at comedy venues in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Other than that, Ansari has pretty much fallen back since his accuser came forward with a detailed account of an encounter when the two went on a date shortly after the 2017 Emmy Awards.

He would later come out with a statement in which he asserted that he believed all interactions to be consensual.

“It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned,” he wrote. “I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.”

Following the aftermath of the scandal, Netflix’s head of original content, Cindy Holland, confirmed the streaming platform’s intent to move forward with Season 3 of Ansari’s Master Of None original series if the opportunity presents itself.

“"We certainly have given some thought to it,” said Holland during the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. “We certainly would be happy to make another season of Master of None with Aziz."
