It often feels as if Solange continuously stretches herself as an artist, and the singer showed us just how much so in last week's release of When I Get Home. In conjunction with the project, Solange also released a 33-minute film of the same title. The visual adaptation seems to be only available for Apple Music users, but Solange recently released an excerpt clip of the film for her music video for the single "Almeda."
The psychedelic visual was directed by Solange herself and showcases her eclectic styling. The 32-year-old singer recently revealed that she created When I Get Home while she was home being treated for an autonomic nerve disorder. "Going through a transition where things were happening to my body that were out of my control, I got to the place where there was no fear surrounding my body, and it belongs to me in a whole new way," Solange said. "It’s been a beautiful love affair that took me time. I’ve always been connected to my sexuality and sensuality, but so much of that was re-grounded during this time. The freedom I got to feel was amazing. I learned you can create those spaces; you don’t need anyone else to have your moment.”
