Jonah Hill used to go by "Spindrome" when he was DJing.

Jonah Hill is in the midst of a strong promotional push for his upcoming directorial debut Mid90s. The film is set to be an authentic look at the world of skateboarding in the 90's and in doing so, Jonah also wanted to show a deep admiration for hip-hop, which he says changed his life growing up. Earlier today, the actor revealed his Top 5: Dead or Alive list, including Kendrick Lamar, Big L, and others. He also stopped by The Breakfast Club to chop it up with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee and during his interview, he revealed that he used to want to be a DJ. While his sample game was apparently pretty tight, his name was not.

Shortly after speaking on his friendship with Q-Tip, Jonah Hill admitted that he was never much of a rapper but he did try and make beats for a while. Admittedly, he says his beats were pretty fire. Offering up an exclusive to The Breakfast Club hosts, the actor said, "It was bad. I didn’t have a rap name, I didn’t have an MC name, but I made a lot of beats. And to be honest, at least my sample game — my diggin’ game — was tight … It’s really embarrassing: It’s Spindrome."

"It was wack," admits Jonah as Charlamagne and his co-hosts laugh about how that name makes him sound like a character from The Incredibles. He also speaks about the upcoming movie in depth, talking more on his history as an aspiring DJ and why he dropped out of the game.
