Her biracial husband is disappointed too.

D'Arreion Nuriyah Toles was making his way home when he was halted by a white woman standing in the lobby's entrance. Hillary Brooke thought it was appropriate to question the man's right to enter the building. After videos of the interaction were uploaded to the web, Brooke lost her job.

The clips show Brooke pestering Toles with questions concerning his residence. Although he avoided answering her questions directly at first, stating that he did not owe her any personal information, he finally confirmed that he lived in the building. When he refused to tell her his unit number, Toles was followed all the way to his door. Brooke seemed to think he didn't look like someone who would live in a luxury loft.

The woman's employer believed her actions were inexcusable. They opted to distance themselves from the low-key racist by expulsing her from her position at the property management company.

"The Tribeca-STL family is a minority-owned company that consists of employees and residents from many racial backgrounds. We are proud of this fact and do not and never will stand for racism or racial profiling at our company."

Even her estranged husband, who happens to be biracial with a Black father, wasn't down with her behavior. He took the time to record a video supporting Toles.
