On Sunday, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn took to Twitter to express his love for the latest Deadpool film.

As a result, the film's lead protagonist Ryan Reynolds responded to Gunn's adoration by positing a potential crossover with Star Lord and his band of outcast superheroes.

Gunn seems to agree with this proposition, simply responding "yes, please."

However, some studio differences may effectively bar this merging of Marvel superheroes from actually occurring. Fox owns the rights to Deadpool, while Disney is home to the Guardians of the Galaxy series. However, if Disney were to acquire the rights from Comcast, the company that owns Fox, then this merging could be a potential cinematic epic in the making.
