The healing process continues.

Ariana Grande is still struggling after taking some time out of the spotlight. The singer had distanced herself from public appearances in order to heal and grieve many hardships, including the death of her former boyfriend Mac Miller. Due to her emotional state, Grande has canceled yet another performance.

The "god is a woman" artist was set to perform at F--k Cancer's inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes fundraising gala last night. Her Manager Scooter Braun addressed her absence during a speech.

"One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they're having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments. And you saw your invite, someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today. And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, 'She needs this time.'"

A source gave further explanation of the matter in a brief statement to HollywoodLife.

“Ariana is still reeling from Mac’s death, it really hit her hard and she’s suffering a lot of trauma from it, and that has turned into a lot of anxiety for her. She felt she couldn’t just get up on stage and sing in front of an audience, and carry on with life as normal while she is massively grieving. The very last thing she wanted to do was pull out of the event, and that’s exactly why it was so last minute, because she really, really wanted to go, but the closer it came to the event, the more anxious she felt, and in the end she just couldn’t do it.”
