Asia Argento was one of the most vocal opposers of Harvey Weinstein, and also one of the first women to come out and admit that the disgraced movie producer sexually assaulted her. As first reported by The New York Times, Argento is now caught up in her own sex scandal. Although the Italian actress was one of the leaders of the #Metoo movement, now she is getting #MeToo'd herself.
The Times obtained documents that show former child actor Jimmy Bennett received $380,000 via Argento's lawyer. Bennett starred alongside Argento in The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things in 2004 when he was eight years old. Allegedly, Bennett's lawyer reached out to Argento last year after the Harvey Weinstein news broke. Bennet's legal team threatened to sue over "sexual battery" in connection with an encounter between the child star and Argento in 2013 when he was 17. He is now 22.
As reported by The Times, Bennett allegedly met Argento at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Marina del Rey, CA on May 9, 2013. She gave Bennet a few drinks and then pushed him on the bed and performed oral sex on him. She then initiated intercourse as well. On Argento's Instagram, she posted pictures on the day in question with Bennet, and the two of them look cozy together. According to TMZ, another picture of them laying in bed (with Bennett topless) in each other's embrace points to a post-sex moment. The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. is currently investigating the claims.
