Anthony Bourdain gave in to his struggle with mental health earlier this Summer, and he took his own life. The world-traveling foodie and author will forever be remembered for his adventures and warm personality that brought different cultures into American living rooms with the show Parts Unknown. CNN is set to debut the final season of Parts Unknown this Fall, and according to Joe Pompeo of Vanity Fair, Bourdain will also reappear for a documentary.
CNN plans to bring an in-depth look at look Bourdain's life to the big screen as early as next year. Zero Point Zero, the production company behind Bourdain’s television series, will help bring the project to life. The documentary is being called “the definitive Bourdain feature documentary.” CNN’s Executive Vice President for Talent and Content Amy Entelis revealed the network's motives behind creating the documentary. “As well as we knew Tony, because he did reveal himself in the series, there was still a hunger to know more about him, and to honor his work and celebrate him," she stated. "The documentary format became one of the more obvious ways to go.”
“We just want to make it perfect,” continued Entelis. “We want to make it exquisite for Tony. We want to do him justice.”
