This year, siren Ravyn Lenae dropped off her Crush EP, and now returns with a lush new video to accompany project select, "The Night Song.”
Directed by Weird Life, the video is a beautiful ode to the disco era as Lenae performs in a club laced in vintage aesthetics and dreamy overlays that would make Donna Summer proud. “Night Song” and other tracks on Crush like the "Sticky" single are a signal of a switch on Lenae’s part as she matures as a musician and this new clip is a solid interpretation of such growth.
“The melodies are different, just my approach to certain topics are more blunt, and that’s a matter of the sound that’s changed, and also me being older,” Lenae told FADER earlier this year. “I don’t have to hide certain things anymore in my music. I’m feeling a little more confident in who I am and my experiences. I feel like this is a coming-of-age project […] Just a little more sexy and feminine.”
