The POTUS has some harsh words about the online retailer.

Donald Trump is never one to shy away from speaking his mind on Twitter, using the highly accessible social media platform to spew some stream-of-conscious musings on any given topic. This morning, the Commander in Chief took to criticizing Amazon and their supposed shady business practices that greatly disadvantage the American public.

The short tweet begins with Trump announcing "I have stated my concerns with Amazon long before the election," before revealing how the retail giant pays "little or no taxes to state & local governments." He also notes how they "use our Postal System as their delivery boy (causing tremendous loss to the U.S.) and are putting thousands or retailers out of business!"

Trump's critique comes after Amazon stock to a hit Wednesday following a report alleging that the former Apprentice host is "obsessed" with the online retailer. Shares dipped more than 4 percent, while falling an additional 3.8 percent earlier Thursday morning.

The company confirms that they collect taxes on products sold within the 45 states that implement a standard sales tax. However, items sold by third-party vendors may have different arrangements for how they distribute their goods. Amazon also supports legislation that would ensure that online retailers pay both state and local sales taxes on merchandise.
