On yesterday's episode of "The View," a six-year old boy named Bryson Thompson and his family joined the hosts to discuss how they are giving back to the organization that helped Bryson receive care for his epilepsy.

Bryson's condition has improved thanks to the Jack's Helping Hand organization, which paid for a helmet for Bryson to protect him from seizures. Bryson's eight-year old brother, Brock, then came up with the idea for "Helmets4Helmets," an initiative that aims to raise money for the organization by auctioning off signed helmets and other sports memorabilia.

During their appearance on The View, Bryson and his family were presented with a bunch of signed memorabilia, including an autographed Kobe Bryant jersey, presented by the man himself. Kobe surprised the Thompson family on the set, explaining that it's his duty to help those in need.

According to Allie Yang of ABC News, Bryant said, "We all have a ... responsibility to each other, to help one another. If you have the opportunity to do that, it's our responsibility as people to help one another. ... It's [as] simple as that."
