Meek Mill To Make Film Debut In Jada Pinkett Smith's "12 O'Clock Boys" Adaptation

Meek Mill's been making some major moves after his release from prison. The rapper's been using his platform and experiences to shed more light of criminal justice reform. He's also been working on new music for his new "surprise" album which is set to drop in the coming weeks. Now, it looks like Meek will also be dabbling in the acting world for Jada Pinkett Smith's upcoming film, "12 O'Clock Boys."

Deadline reports Meek Mill will be co-starring in the upcoming film "12 O'Clock Boys" alongside Teyonah Parris, Jahi Winston and Will Carlett. The movie's script was initially drafted by Barry Jenkins - who directed and won an Oscar for "Moonlight" - and is being produced by Jada Pinkett Smith's production company Overbrook Entertainment. The movie is currently in production and is being directed by Angel Manuel Soto.

"12 O'Clock Boys" is a coming-of-age story that surrounds a Baltimore kid named Mouse who strives to join Baltimore bike rider gang, Midnight Clique. The film is an adaptation of Lofty Nathan's 2013 documentary of the same name. Mouse will be portrayed by Winston while Meek Mill is set to play the leader of the Midnight Clique, which seems appropriate given his passion for dirt bikes. "12 O'Clock Boys" will serve as a Meek Mill's first studio feature film in his career.

Last week, Meek Mill was honored with the inaugural Impact Award at Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Impact Awards. The rapper received the award for not only his musical output but also his work in justice reform and the strength he had while incarcerated earlier this year.
