"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

Neil Armstrong is one of the most legendary men to even walk the planet. He's also one of the few men to ever have left the planet. In 1969, Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first humans to land on the moon. Now, Ryan Gosling is set to play Armstrong in the film First Man.

The first trailer for First Man was released recently, and it appears that this will be more than just a space drama. According to the HuffPostthe film will take place between 1961-69. With that in mind, it looks like director Damien Chazelle will be ending the film with the moon landing, and starting with the period of time when Armstrong was just joining NASA after leaving the Navy. Chazelle previously worked with Gosling on La La Land, so it will be interesting to see how they approach a biopic.

In the new trailer, Armstrong deals with failing on land while trying to convince his family if he'll make it home. His son asks him if he's coming back, and his wife is ready to take on the entire NASA to protect her husband. Amid all the drama though, Gosling keeps his cool and exudes a sense of confidence as the first man on the moon. Check out the trailer below.
