The reality television vixen is seeking justice.

Kim Kardashian is fighting a good battle. The beauty connoisseur is trying to help release a woman by the name of Alice Johnson from serving a prison sentence that seems particularly harsh.

Johnson became involved with cocaine dealers after she simultaneously lost her job, got a divorce, witnessed the death of her son and the foreclosure of her house back in 2013. She did not sell or distribute the drugs, but instead, acted as a liaison between for those individuals involved in these shady operations, passing along important message between drug personnel. Johnson was eventually found guilty for her crimes, and was handed a life-sentence without any chance for parole.

Kardashian spoke to Mic about her efforts to help overturn Johnson's conviction, using her high-profile status to try and mobilize a judicial re-consideration.  "I’ve been in communication with the White House and trying to bring her case to the president’s desk and figure out how we can get her out," she reveals. "That’s such a huge step from where we started with that not even being on their radar."

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was enlisted the help of Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump's husband, alongside other members of the Trump administration to try and free Johnson.

"If you think about a decision that you’ve made in your life and you get life without the possibility of parole for your first-time nonviolent offense, there’s just something so wrong with that," Kardashian admits. "Where I’m at in my life right now, just like, to go and spend my money buying material things just doesn’t satisfy me the way that it used to. To save someone’s life and do that once a year, then that would make [my] heart fuller."
