The Met Gala is one of the most important nights in the fashion industry, with the theme of the event changing annually. Celebrities show out every year to grace the red carpet in the trendiest outfits, rocking avant-garde get-ups that fit with the year's specifications. You'll recall Kanye West and Kim Kardashian visiting the Met Gala in 2016 with the latter rocking blue contact lenses and Kim showing off her eyebrowless look. Beyoncé and Jay-Z often attend the affair in some of the most newsworthy outfits but, this year, the pair will not be dressing up for the occasion.
The Met Gala takes place tonight at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and although a large number of stars is expected to show up, Beyoncé and Jay will not be there. According to Entertainment Tonight, Hov and Bey will be taking a trip instead of attending the star-studded evening. The decision was made in an effort to get some much-needed relaxation time before the couple goes on tour together. Beyoncé was planning to wear a custom-designed dress by Dundas at the event.
The pair will be embarking on the On The Run 2 Tour in one month and they can use all the time they can get their hands on before hitting the road all summer.
