LeBron James is playing for the Philadelphia 76ers this season and is living in New York, but his family and wife, Savannah James, are not.

Savannah James and LeBron James have been together for over 20 years. They have been through it all, and going into LeBron's 24th year in the NBA, the couple faces a new challenge. Distance.

LeBron chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. Moreover, he has opted to live in New York during this time. It's a decision that has certainly turned heads around the NBA, although from a pure basketball perspective, it has been working out for him.

With Bronny still playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Bryce playing in Arizona, Savannah James has been left to make some difficult decisions. In the end, she has chosen to remain in California with her daughter, Zhuri.

During an appearance on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, James explained her choice. For James, it has everything to do with proximity to her kids. Five years ago, traveling with LeBron to New York would have been a no-brainer. Now, it simply does not make sense.

Savannah James & LeBron Are Living A Country Apart

Of course, the couple is still together and is very much supportive of one another. For the next two seasons of LeBron's career, it will just be one long road trip. That said, retirement is on the horizon, and if you're a LeBron fan, you can't help but be a bit sad about that.

Ultimately, LeBron James is one of the best to ever do it. For 24 years, fans have grown up alongside him. When he retires, a piece of everyone's childhood is going to go away.

Hopefully, LeBron takes it easy in retirement, once and for all.
