A home invasion near Drake’s Toronto mansion left a family of four hospitalized, with two of them facing “life-altering injuries,” according to the Toronto police. Per CBC, the police responded to a call for a “violent home invasion” in the Bridle Path area, just a few hundred metres away from Drake’s home.
Authorities said that they are searching for three suspects who were armed with guns and a hammer and broke into the home. They said that the individuals barged into the home through the back entrance, leading to a vicious struggle. The masked suspects confronted a father, mother, and their two adult daughters before unloading their firearms “multiple times.” Const. Shannon Eames said the father and daughters were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, while the mother was hit with a hammer. Two of the victims face life-altering injuries, while authorities stated that the other two victims are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Home Invasion In Toronto's Bridle Path Neighborhood
No suspects have been apprehended yet. The police said they were spotted leaving the scene in an SUV. Insp. Kristy Smith noted how there’s no clear indication of the motive, but the suspects demanded valuables from the victims.
Cecil Hawkins, a neighbor of the victims, said that it’s a “terrible shock and tragedy,” while also comparing it to the 2024 shooting at Drake’s house.
“The attack on Drake's house was awful, but he's a celebrity and you don't think it's ever going to happen to you as a more normal person," Hawkins said.
Police have since identified the CEO of the Mac Group, David Morton, as one of the victims, along with his daughters Cristina and Maggie and his wife, Doriana Zohil-Morton. We will keep you posted with any further updates on this.
