The Breakfast Club is back on YouTube with an interview featuring Glasses Malone, Malcolm Spellman, Jason Martin & Peyton Alex Smith.

When The Breakfast Club signed a Netflix deal, fans were a bit skeptical. In the end, that skepticism was validated when the show stopped posting full interviews on its YouTube page. This subsequently led to a reduction in viewership and debates about the show's relevance in everyday hip-hop discourse.

However, fans were met with a bit of a surprise on Tuesday when The Breakfast Club posted a full-length interview. This was their first since the Netflix deal, and it was a welcome surprise.

That said, there are now debates about why The Breakfast Club chose this interview, in particular. Charlamagne Tha God and Loren LoRosa spoke to Glasses Malone, Malcolm Spellman, Jason Martin, and Peyton Alex Smith about the new series, The Drop.

They also had a conversation about preserving hip-hop and not allowing it to fall into the wrong hands. In fact, there was even a spirited conversation about DJ Akademiks, with Glasses Malone explaining why he is more qualified to speak on rap.

The Breakfast Club Back On YouTube

Given Charlamagne Tha God's recent run-in with Akademiks a few months ago, some are finding the timing of all this fairly strange. However, it should be noted that Charlamagne was quick to defend Akademiks throughout the interview.

Going forward, it will be interesting to see whether or not this signals a real change for the program. Will they continue to post full-length interviews on YouTube, or is this just a one-time deal? If it is, then those conspiracy theories will only loom larger.

As for the fans, listeners in The Breakfast Club's comments seem enthusiastic about this change. They have been clamoring for long-form to return to the YouTube page, and this is an opportunity to give the fans what they want.
