Keshia Chanté’s pregnancy announcement sparked speculation about Drake, but his representative has firmly denied he is the daddy.

A representative for Drake has shut down speculation that the rapper is the father of Keshia Chanté’s unborn child. The rumor began circulating Tuesday after Chanté announced she is pregnant with her first child, a baby boy. Although the singer and former 106 & Park host has kept the father’s identity private, she made clear in her announcement that he is involved. In one playful reference to their son’s future, she wrote that “Dada’s got your studio locked” and joked that the child already has an album due in summer 2027.

That was apparently enough for some corners of social media to start connecting dots that Chanté herself never drew. According to TMZ, Drake representative Melissa Nathan called the claims “inaccurate” and said his team could “completely and unequivocally” deny that he fathered the child.

Why Drake’s Name Entered The Conversation

The theory didn't materialize out of thin air, even if the conclusion proved unfounded. Chanté and Drake have known each other since their teens, and both have discussed their early romantic history publicly.

During his 2022 Toronto concert, Drake brought Chanté onstage and introduced her as his first girlfriend, describing her as someone he still loved deeply. Their connection goes back well before either became an established name in Canadian music, and Chanté has since spoken warmly about their longtime friendship. Billboard Canada has also noted their shared personal history when revisiting her appearance at the 2022 event.

That history, coupled with Chanté’s reference to the baby’s father having a studio ready for their son, appears to have fueled the online assumption that Drake was involved. Chanté, however, never named the rapper or suggested publicly that he was her child’s father. She also made her actual relationship status clear enough in the pregnancy announcement. “Mommy & Daddy are so excited to welcome you into the world,” she wrote, confirming that the child’s father is part of the picture without revealing who he is.
