Ye is showing love to a Nike collab ahead of ComplexCon, and given his history with the brand, that's a pretty big moment.

Ye is giving the Victor Victor x Nike Air Force 1 '01 his seal of approval. A screenshot from Steven Victor's Instagram story shows Ye reacting to the collab with fire emojis. It comes right before the Blue pair drops at ComplexCon in Los Angeles.

Victor also shared a video of himself driving a Ferrari Monza SP2 to confirm the Blue drop. That's about as Steven Victor as it gets.

The Air Force 1 '01 has been the main event for Victor Victor all year. The collection is rolling out in different colors and cities through December. Each pair has tumbled leather, a shorter toe, and the dog logo on the heel.

ComplexCon runs October 3rd and 4th, and this is one of the biggest Air Force 1 drops on the schedule. Having Ye's co-sign only adds to the buzz. Given his history with Nike, it's also a pretty interesting and unlikely twist.

Expect the "Blue" pair to be hard to find. Convention exclusives are usually small runs, and a co-sign like this can push demand even higher. If you're in LA, get there early.

Ye Co-Signs Victor Victor x Nike AF1 Collab

The story here is bigger than just one shoe. Ye announced he was leaving Nike in November 2013. He said Nike wouldn't give him royalties, and as everyone knows, he signed with Adidas soon after.

Then came the plot twist. In February 2014, Nike dropped the Air Yeezy 2 "Red October" with a single tweet. Ye was already at Adidas by then and the $245 pair sold out in about 11 minutes.

Red Octobers now sell for thousands, and they're still considered one of the greatest sneakers ever made. For a lot of fans, that moment never really felt settled. Now he's backing a Nike collab at ComplexCon. That doesn't mean Ye and Nike are teaming up again. It is a fun full-circle moment, though, and a reminder of how much pull he still has in sneaker culture.
