Meek Mill had two songs leak over the weekend, and on Sunday evening, he took matters into his own hands. "Philly Heathens" and "Am I Wrong" were posted as music videos on YouTube, with Meek acknowledging that these are, indeed, leaks.
The first of these songs, "Philly Heathens," has been praised for Meek's lyrics about street culture and the youth who lose themselves to violence. "Am I Wrong," however, is a drill interpolation of Nico & Vinz's smash hit of the same name. It's a song that is 12 years old, and if you grew up on that brand of EDM, you probably look at the song as sacred ground.
Unfortunately, Meek's interpretation of the song is lacking. The beat sounds dated, which isn't the biggest sin given the fact that this is a leak and probably old. However, it's Meek's singing on the hook that has led to all the criticism.

Meek Mill Tries Something New
Fans were not particularly kind to Meek's new track, especially on Reddit's r/hiphopheads, where the commenters can be especially critical at times.
"I've been rocking with Meek since Flammerz and the Off The Muscle DVD's. Its hard for me to root against him, but he makes some very odd choices sometimes," one fan wrote. "The chorus had me SCRAMBLING to turn it down," said another.
There were some who actually found this to be a nice blog era throwback. One fan even pointed out that the hook is the only bad thing about the song. "I didn't get the comments disliking until the chorus happened. But Meek was doing his thing otherwise."
Given the fact that these are leaked throwaways, we doubt that "Am I Wrong" will get an official streaming release. Although if it does, it won't be Meek's most popular song.
