Drake is going to be delivering his "FOMO" film tonight, and there is no denying that fans are intrigued. Some are curious as to whether or not this film will bring about new music, or if it will just be a film based around Drizzy's ICEMAN summer.
Speaking of ICEMAN, the album remains one of the best of the year so far. If the year were to end right now, there are plenty of fans who would put ICEMAN at the very top of their lists. It makes sense. After all, the album had a number one hit in "Janice STFU." Furthermore, the project features some of Drake's best beats, melodies, and raps in quite some time.
During the ICEMAN rollout, we got music videos for the vast majority of the songs, and we also got four different highly-produced livestreams. As DJ Akademiks confirms, this did not come cheap. In fact, it is believed that Drake spent upwards of $12 million on the ICEMAN rollout, and it all came out of his own pocket.
Drake's ICEMAN Rollout Cost A Pretty Penny
Ultimately, the ICEMAN rollout was money well spent considering it shifted the narrative around Drake. After his battle with Kendrick Lamar, many fans had counted him out. Now, it remains clear that on a commercial basis, Drake remains at the top of the rap game.
With this latest "FOMO" rollout, we will see just how ambitious Drake is right now. Whether or not this short film is setting up a new tour or a new album remains to be seen.
Either way, we will be covering the "FOMO" livestream tonight, so stay tuned to HNHH and hang out with us as we experience the film together.
