Despite what you may have thought, Serayah and Joey Bada$$ aren’t actually back together. Following an interview with TMZ, where she confirmed that they were good, fans quickly speculated that she took him back. But that’s not the case. A rep for the Empire star said that the two only speak as it relates to co-parenting and that she already returned the engagement ring.
TMZ caught Serayah at West Hollywood hotspot Craig’s on Tuesday night when she was asked about the status between herself and Joey. During the brief interview, she said that they’re both “doing great” while asserting that both of them are “hoping for the best.” Although she didn’t say a whole lot during the encounter with the paps, it was enough to spark speculation that they were back together, especially since she didn’t confirm or deny whether she returned the engagement ring. Most interpreted it as the two working out their problems privately, though comments from her rep indicate that isn’t the case at all.

In a message shared to social media last week, Serayah announced that they parted ways after “repeated infidelity.”
“After much thought, I have made the difficult decision to end my engagement and relationship with the father of my child, Joey. I loved deeply, believed wholeheartedly in the life we were building, and wanted nothing more than to protect our family,” she said. “Unfortunately, I also had to face a painful truth: there had been repeated infidelity throughout our relationship, including during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of my life.”
Ultimately, she said that the two of them were focused on raising their son, who they welcomed together in June 2025, followed by the announcement of their engagement. No word from Joey yet on the matter but we’ll keep you poted on any further updates.
