Will Smith had some big boots to fill.

The live-action Aladdin film is dropping more and more hints before it's anticipated May 2019 theatrical release. One of the most loved characters of the 1992 original animated version is the Genie (of course) who was voiced by the late Robin Williams. It's for that reason that Will Smith was so nervous to play Genie in the new version of the film, feeling like he had big boots to fill.

"I was terrified doing the Genie after Robin Williams," Will told Entertainment Tonight. "But I found a lane that pays homage. It is my own thing, you know? So, I think people are going to love it."

He added: "It's one of the greatest filmmaking experiences that I have ever had. I have worked at most of the studios, and Disney just knows what they are doing. It was really a spectacular team of people that came together around a classic story. It's so spectacular, it's such a beautiful movie and I can't wait for people to see it."

The movie hits theatres on May 24th. Check out the first teaser below.
